The 20th session of Asia-Pacific Heads of Maritime Safety Agencies (APHoMSA) was convened in Seoul, Republic of Korea on 14-18 April 2019. The delegations of Mongolia Maritime Administration (MMA) headed by Director-General and followed by Officer of Foreign Affairs attended the forum. MMA has taken part in this forum and expressed its suggestions as an official member status as becoming a member of APHoMSA in April, 2018.
The forum was attended by the delegations of 23 organization of Asia-Pacific Region including IMO, Pacific Committee, Tokyo MOU and IALA discussing 39 papers submitted by the members covering the sessions under the main four pillars as Regional Cooperation, Protecting the Marine Environment, Safety at Sea including Seafarer Welfare and Maritime Incident Response.
The delegations of MMA has met with the other participants and the representatives of Host Nation expressing its offer to cooperate on participation of Mongolia to the maritime field, enhancement of flag state inspection and development of waterway transportation sector.
Meanwhile, our delegations also participated to the “Korea Maritime Week-2019” which was organized as a parallel event with the forum and collected information with regards of the current global maritime issues such as maritime safety and marine environment, thereby understanding the current issues and pursuing the development of the maritime sector.
