A Joint meeting has been organized

      Joint consultancy meeting was held in Erlian of People’s Republic of China, in October 23-24, 2018 under the theme “Development of Chinese-Mongolian-Russian transit corridor”.

      Approximately 40 representatives from the Republic of China and more than 60 participants from the Mongolian side, majority of them represented freight forwarding companies, attended the joint meeting.

      Challenges and problems raised in connection with Erlian Ports’ poor transmitting capacity was main subject to discussion and means of overcoming complications were considered.

      Furthermore, issues relating to the economic losses associated with unplanned timing loss in customs clearance and border passage, due to the difference in document piling requirements, were raised and agreed to focus the problem by the both parties to strengthen the competitiveness of China-Mongolia-Russia transit corridor, which runs through the territory of Mongolia.   

      In this consultancy meeting Mr.B.Munkhbat and Ms.Baigalmaa, have participated representing the Mongolia Maritime Administration and made presentation on “International Treaties and Rights of Mongolia ".

      The presentation covered the rights of land locking countries and responsibilities of transit states, which are introduced in the United Nations’ Convention Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and it was explained in detail with the purpose to illustrate the international legal framework applicable to the participants in transit transportation.

      The PPT was prepared and presented in Mongolian and Chinese languages, which was acknowledged by the Organizing Committee by its accessibility and easiness to follow.
